Bome is battle-tested — if you need deep MIDI scripting for complex routing, it's earned its reputation over 15+ years. Conductor is the modern alternative: AI-powered setup, gamepad support, and a visual GUI, at half the price.
Stream Deck is excellent hardware — but the controller on your desk can do the same job. Conductor turns your MIDI controller or gamepad into a programmable macro pad with velocity sensitivity, LED feedback, and triggers Stream Deck can't match.
Condukt is a beautiful iOS app focused on synth control. Conductor is a desktop application focused on system automation — keyboard shortcuts, app launching, shell commands, and AI-powered configuration.
Free tools get the basics done. Conductor CLI is also free and open-source — with more triggers, plugins, and a read-only MCP server. Studio adds the visual interface and AI configuration when you want them.
